Part One: Beginning our Journey Towards Authentic Manhood

Text: “Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness. And let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over the livestock and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.” Genesis 1:26-27 (ESV)

What is manhood? What is authentic manhood?

That is the dominant question that we so often find ourselves confronting, especially in our post-modern age... Read More >>

Part Two: The Imitator of God

Text:  “Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children” Ephesians 5:1 (ESV)

Any true understanding of authentic manhood must begin with the Creator. It is within the context of the Creator that manhood finds not only its definition, but also its purpose. In this sense, no manhood, no true idea of manhood can exist apart from God. It must be a reflection of Him and His nature.. Read More >>

Part Three: The Holiness of God

Text: “Consecrate yourselves, therefore, and be holy, for I am the LORD your God.” Leviticus 20:7 (ESV)

Authentic manhood, as we have discussed, begins with God. There can be no understanding of manhood, of what it is, and what it means, apart from the Creator. Part Four: The Righteousness of God

Text: “Your righteousness is righteous forever, and your law is true.” Psalm 119:142 (ESV)

God is righteous.

We have heard this, we know this, but do we know what this actually means? Do we actually understand what is meant when we say the righteousness of God? Or do we just simply take it for granted? Read More >>

Part Five: The Justice of God

Text: “The Rock, his work is perfect,  for all his ways are justice. A God of faithfulness and without iniquity, just and upright is he.” Deuteronomy 32:4 (ESV)

Intrinsically tied to God’s righteousness is His justice. So closely bound together are the two that we can find that it is incredibly difficult to separate them from each other. Yet, they do represent two separate attributes of who God is.  Read More >>

Part Six: The Genuineness of God

Text: “But the LORD is the true God; he is the living God and the everlasting King. At his wrath the earth quakes,  and the nations cannot endure his indignation.” Jeremiah 10:10 (ESV)

It is God who is true. There is none who are like him.

As we find ourselves in our text today we see a contrast. On one hand there are the idols that are crafted by the works of men. Carved and adorned with silver and gold, they are useless. They can’t speak, they have to be carried because they can’t walk Read More >>
